DROTAVERINE

Drotaverine is an antispasmodic drug having class phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitor used to alleviate gastrointestinal and genitourinary smooth muscle spasms.

Drotaverine has been used in the symptomatic treatment of various spastic conditions, such as gastrointestinal diseases, biliary dyskinesia, and vasomotor diseases associated with smooth muscle spasms. It also has been investigated in dysmenorrhea, abortion,  and augmentation of labour.

Drotaverine is used to reduce and relieve muscle spasms in the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and gall bladder.

DROTAVERINE inhibits phosphodiesterase-IV which is specific for smooth muscle. It has direct and rapid action on the smooth muscles. DROTAVERINE corrects the cyclic AMP and calcium imbalance at the spastic site. Thereby relieves pain and muscle spasms.

ACECLOFENAC

Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

Aceclofenac is prescribed for people with painful rheumatic conditions such as  osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It eases pain and reduces inflammation.

MECHANISM OF ACTION OF ACECLOFENAC

Aceclofenac works by blocking the effect of natural substances called cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes. These enzymes help to make other chemicals in the body, called prostaglandins. Some prostaglandins are produced at sites of injury or damage, and cause pain and inflammation. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, fewer prostaglandins are produced, which means pain and inflammation are eased.
